What to Expect
1. Brain Image
An Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is completed by our MRI Community Partner, Medical Arts Radiology, or a imaging center of your choice. It should take about 20 minutes. The scan is then used to locate the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) used to regulate emotions and mood. It is quite small, so traditional cranial measurements used in TMS in the United States to date is not as precise as with MRI.
2. TMS Treatment
TMS treatment is given daily - typically over the course of 30 treatments/30 days. The treatments are painless and you will hear a pulsing sound during the treatment. You will be given the option to view calming visual content on a TV screen during the session and a calming aromatherapy scent of your choice. You may be accompanied by a family member or friend or request our therapy dog, Baxter, sit with you prior to your session.
